Buttercreme

Buttercreme is by far the best and coolest ice cream place in London (dare I say Ontario??). Their creativity is endless when it comes to the flavours -- which they change up monthly, frequently collaborating with other local businesses. You won't find flavours like these anywhere else, and there are so many options to choose from it keeps us coming back to try more! Their small team of staff is always extremely friendly and patient when you want recommendations or to try free samples of the latest and greatest flavours. Also, I'm celiac, so being able to eat such unique and tasty ice cream -- on freshly made WAFFLE CONES no less -- is a miracle. Thank you Buttercreme, keep doing what you're doing <3<3

As someone who is coeliac and dairy-free, having a place where our entire family can enjoy treats together is truly amazing. We’ve never felt short of options, and everything has been delicious — including for those who enjoy dairy. The team is always welcoming and happy to offer samples, which makes choosing even better. My experience at Buttercreme has been nothing but AMAZING. As a celiac, I love knowing I can have anything in the store, and everything I’ve tried so far has been out of this world. My faves are any of their cheesecake-based flavours (I’ve had blueberry cheesecake, and cranberry cheesecake!), and I was also a huge fan of the fig-chai one (what an unreal combo!). I’ve always been offered a sample, and once I went in looking for their tiramisu cups only to find there weren’t any in the display, but the sweet gal at the front offered to make me a fresh one right on the spot! Total win. I’ve only ever purchased their pints, and I love their policy of retuning the clean glass jars and getting some money off your next pints. That’ll keep me coming back for sure. Gluten-free, dairy-free peeps, we’ve got a winner here!! 5-stars.

I love finding these hole in the wall ice cream shops with a little kitchen that whips up the best tasting flavours. You had us at 5-Star ice cream after the first few free samples. All the 4 flavors we sampled were delicious. But the Blueberry Cheesecake was amazing, And the Cookies and Cream was dynamite. We sampled both dairy ice cream, and non-dairy ice-cream - and both had that creamy delicious taste you'd want to find in an Italian gelato. Awesome find in London. Highly recommend!!!

No question this is the BEST ice cream spot in the city. Everything is gluten free and their dairy-free options are unmatched. I have not had a bad scoop. And their best kept secret…they have GLUTEN FREE WAFFLE CONES! Seriously can’t believe as a gf/df person I didn’t discover this place until the summer. Oh, and one more amazing perk - they are super environmentally friendly. Their take-home pints are in reusable jars! I absolutely just love this place and have gotten many friends and family going here now too!

I love buttercreme! As someone with celiac, it’s invaluable to find a safe place to have some delicious and thoughtfully-made treats! I’ve enjoyed countless dairy & plant based ice cream flavours with the homemade waffle cones. I look forward to the newest flavour drops & trying the yummy creations. I’ve even enjoyed multiple samples before committing to a flavour! The cookies are also decadent and my partner, who isn’t gluten free, enjoys them too (that’s a big deal!)

I come from a family where ice cream is more than a tasty treat or a dessert, it’s a necessity. The quality of the ice cream at buttercreme is second to none. Additionally they offer dairy free flavours that are equally if not more delicious than the regular flavours. The team is always friendly and willing to go out of their way to make suggestions and ensure you have the best experience possible. Absolutely can’t recommend them highly enough. Not just the best ice cream place in London, one of the best businesses in the city by a mile.

It is so refreshing to find a high quality ice cream where you can taste the love and hard work that goes into making it. My family of 5 LOVE Buttercreme and choose to get their ice cream over anywhere else for those reasons. As someone who is very health conscious to what ingredients my family consumes,I was VERY happy the other day at my visit when I had asked how they make the green in their peppermint fudge brownie. I was pleasantly surprised with the response of “green spirulina” no yucky food colourings!!! They may charge “more” for their ice cream but you get what you pay for. highly recommend checking them out and you will not be disappointed!!
